Testimonials
We have used several tutors for our son . We have been so pleased with the positive outcomes that Stephanie has accomplished with our son who suffers with ADHD and Dyslexia. His reading, writing and confidence levels all improved. He was happy, too. She has a lot of patience, knowledge and experience. I truly highly recommend her expertise.

Our family has worked with Stephanie since 2014. She began as a homework helper, but she quickly became so much more. Stephanie has been integral to our son and daughter's success. My son will attend Georgetown this upcoming fall (Stephanie helped with his applications and essays) and my daughter will begin the application process soon. Stephanie is an excellent tutor. She's a find!

With Stephanie’s help, I felt so much better studying for the SAT and ACT. The second time I took the tests, I knew how to pace myself and show my best work.

[Stephanie] helped me transition from college into my first job. I still meet with her remotely to help me with my performance and develop better strategies as I learn more about being a new employee.

About Stephanie
Hi, I'm Stephanie Hoos, founder of Hoos Solutions, LLC (formerly Hoos Tutoring), where I provide individualized literacy instruction, executive functioning support, academic coaching, and consultation for children, adolescents, and adults navigating educational, career, and life transitions.
I'm currently a dual-degree graduate student at Southern Connecticut State University, pursuing a Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice and a Master of Arts in Women's & Gender Studies. My graduate work reflects my commitment to supporting individuals and families through a holistic, strengths-based approach that integrates education, mental health, advocacy, and community engagement.
With more than a decade of experience in education, I've worked alongside children, adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to foster academic success, executive functioning, and social-emotional growth. My professional background includes teaching at The Windward School, King School, and ACES Academic Programs, where I collaborated with educators, families, and mental health professionals to support both academic achievement and student well-being.
Today, my work extends beyond education. As an MSW intern at Shoreline Wellness, I provide individual and group counseling for adolescents and adults using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and evidence-based practices. I also serve as Programs & Initiatives Coordinator at the Women & Family Life Center, where I help develop and support community programs that empower individuals and families through life's many transitions.
My philosophy is simple: people thrive when they feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether I'm helping a young learner build confidence in reading, coaching a student with executive functioning challenges, consulting with parents, or supporting an adult through educational or career transitions, I strive to create a collaborative, compassionate, and empowering experience.
At Hoos Solutions, my mission is to help individuals of all ages build confidence, develop practical skills, and navigate change with clarity and resilience. Whether you're looking for academic coaching, literacy support, educational consulting, executive functioning strategies, or guidance through life's transitions, I'm here to partner with you every step of the way.
